Prima Garden Fable Tag.

Hi all, welcome to my blog.  Today I have an altered wooden tag to share with you.  I dug into some of  my Faith Pocock Craft Studio kits from last year and pulled out some of the yummy leftovers from the gorgeous Prima - Garden Fable collection.  Along with a lot of extra's like the Chipboards and More; Journalling cards (3"x4") and the co-ordinating flower packs along with the wooden icons.  Please check under the Manufacturers tab  over at Faith Pocock Craft Studio Ltd to see if these are still in stock.

My tag base was one I have had in my stash for quite sometime.  The were once part of a Kaisercraft wooden tag mini album.  However over the years I have broken them up and used them individually.

I began by giving the edges of the tag a coat of white gesso around the edges and then adhering my pink base page.

I then started playing around with the scraps, adding layers....

and even some stencilling with Prima Art Basics modelling paste for some texture...
the final touches were the lovely Prima flowers that co-ordinate with this collection

...and here is my finished tag....

Altered Notebook + BONUS PROJECT

Hi all Kimi here, welcome back to Meg's Garden.  Today I have a vintage inspired altered notebook using the fabulous Chantilly Cream paper kit.  Once again I have chosen Kraft cardstock as my backing papers.  I think it really sets these papers off.

I have had this little notebook with pen in my stash for quite sometime.  I thought, with its Kraft cardboard covers, that it would go perfectly with the Chantilly Cream Collection.

Here is a before pic:-

I wanted to add a little pink to this project, so I pulled out Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tattered Rose and inked all the edges with this first.  Then followed this up by lightly going around in Walnut Stain.  I really liked how this turned out.  The Tattered Rose blended beautifully with the soft creamy tones.

I also wanted to use the seam binding supplied in our kit, so I spritzed my glass cutting mat with some water and added a few drops of Tattered Rose re-inker to change the colour.

....and here is my altered notebook.   I love the softy peachy colour.  This little notebook is now a lovely "vintage-y" journal.

I have used layered two of  the paper flowers and lightly dusted them with some of the Tattered Rose.
I added the seam binding to a little light pink lace from stash and topped it with the Pearl bead string from the kit.  The beautiful vintage photo is from the Cut & Create Sheet.
On the inside cover I created a punched border/pocket to hold a small journalling tag and added the small flower trim that was part of our embellishments.
I also covered the pen with the lovely long flower cut out that can be found on the 12x12 Cut & create sheet.
The inside back cover is left plain....
....however I have decorated the back cover with another one of the cut outs.

Products I have used:-
Pearl Bead trim

The 12 x12 Chantilly Cream 12"x12" papers come with these 4"x12" strips.

When I first saw these I thought how perfect they would be for creating pocket letters!!  So I found myself with a little extra time up my sleeve so I decided to add a bonus pocket letter project.
I have used a few of the cut outs to decorate the pockets with and some embellishments from my stash.
I have used the Chantilly Cream 01 - p6445 to mat the backs.  Now all that there is left to do is fill the pockets with some goodies.

Products Used:-
Chantilly Cream 4"x12" strip 01 - P6455
Chantilly Cream 4"x12" strip 02 - P6446
Chantilly Cream 4"x12" strip 04 - P6448
Chantilly Cream 4"x12" strip - Cut & Create - P6451
Vintage Cotton Lace
Cream Ribbon

Layout Share

Hi all welcome to my first post of the year for Faith Pocock Craft studio and today I have a layout to share with you all.  Last year Faith sent me the Grace collection from Authentique.

I have used a sheet of Kaisercraft Coffee Bean cardstock for my base and then a selection of scraps from previous projects.

I have used some of the green leaf trim that came in one of my kits from last year. I have also tucked away some gold cogs and gears

I have also added some paper flowers from my stash and few from Prima

Below is a small side cluster of Prima flowers, word banner, and Prima wooden icon.

I have distressed all my edges and inked them up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

Well readers that is my project for this week.  s always, please come join us on....

till next time...

Chantilly Cream Mini Album

WOW!! WOW!!! WOW!! I got my first kit from Megs Garden and it is just gorgeous.   The cream tones are so subtle that they will lend themselves to any project.  Today I have a vintage inspired mini album to share using the 12x12 paper kit and the cut out sheet.  This versatile little mini really is so fast you can get it done in a day and can be customised to suit any occasion.  It only takes 2 pieces of cardstock to create the base.

I have chosen Kraft cardstock for this mini.  I think it went perfectly with the cream tones of this lovely paper. I have covered my pages with the following papers.

Chantilly Cream 01
Chantilly Cream 02
Chantilly Cream 03
Chantilly Cream 05
Chantilly Cream 06
I have embellished the mini through out with the Cut & Create sheet.

Along with the embellishments that were included in the kit.

Here is my mini.  This mini measures 4 1/2 x 6 inches.
I have used the mesh, pearls and flowers that came in the kit to embellish the front and added a few items from my stash.  I have used magnets to create a flap closure for this mini.

I wanted to add just a subtle touch of colour to the flower, so I have dusted it lightly with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain and added a few glass beads here and there.
The inside cover has a small tuck spot with a journalling tag that I have created from one of the cut outs and layered on manilla cardstock and then stamped in Tim Holtz Disress Ink - Black soot.  The second page is a place for a photo.
Page 3: I have left this page blank for a photo and the pocket houses a single sided photo mat
Pages 4 & 5.  These pages have two little corner pockets with two photo mats and little journal tags created from more of the images from the cut and create paper
Pages 6 & 7:  I have used a small die cut from my stash and teamed it up with some lace to create a small tuck spot for a photo and added one of the tags for journalling.
Pages 8 & 9:  I have used some Kraft cardstock to create two side loading pockets to house two single sided photo mats and journalling tags.  Again I have used a mix of Manilla cardstock and Kraft to layer the journalling tags.
Pages 10 & 11:  I have used the other half of my diecut to create another tuck spot and added a tag from the Cut and Create sheet.  I have added some lace and ribbon to embellish the pocket and added a single sided photo mat.
Back Pages:  These pages I have only lightly embellished as by now my mini was getting just a tad lumpy and I feared that it wouldn't close.  So I have added some stamped embellishments that I created using some of the offcuts of paper.

Lastly, this is the mini from behind and from above.  As you can see it is only about an inch or so think.  Hopefully I have left some growing room for the photos.

Products I have used are:
