Altered Matchbox Dresser

Hi all.  I have something a little different to share with you all today.  It's a matchbox dresser and this project has been on my pinterest to do list for ages.  I first spotted these surfing pinterest one night and though I just have to try it.

So I started out with 6 matchboxes.  If you are an Aussie, you will easily recongise these matches.

The boxes measure 2"x 2 3/4" and were just the perfect size for this.  I recently discovered that my local dollar shop is now stock foam board, so I grabbed myself a sheet to see what it is like.  I have used it to create the outside shell to house my "drawers"...

I glued all of the matchboxes together like this

I covered my foam pieces in papers from the Graphic 45 Gilded Lily 8x8 paper pad and then glued them to the outer shell of the matchboxes.

Next was to line all the inside draws and create little handles or knobs.  I have used two bead caps.  One I have totally flattened out and the other holds a large pearl bead.

Once I had my little Dresser all put together it was time to decorate!!

Sorry I have no glamour shots this time round guys....I think my camera must've ate them :( cause the are nowhere to be found ...but I do have these

I have layered up the papers on the front panels of my draws and inked all their edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain.  I added some of the small feet that Faith has here.

I have added a paper doily to the top and then decorated with various paper flowers, tiny bottles, charms and a cabechon

and finally here is what the sides and back look like...

well readers, thanks for sticking around.  So sorry the pics aren't the best.  I hope you are inspired to have a go at creating one of these.  The matchboxes make it so easy!!... I had so much fun with this.

Autumn Inspired Tag

Hello crafty peeps.,.I am back today to share with you a real quick tag I created using supplies from Faith Pocock Craft Studio.

Even though we are celebrating Spring down here in Australia, I just love Autumn tones and I decided to have a bit of a play with some of my craft supplies and the ink pads I have on hand to see what I could create....

I began with these pigment based ink pads that I have had in my stash for eons .....

and just a  number 8 shipping tag..

I inked the tag up with bright red, orange and green.  It looked just a bit too bright so I added some Walnut Stain here and there.

Then I started spraying with Lindy Stamp Gang sprays.  I have used Incandescent Copper; Blazing Sun and Steampunk Sepia.

It has really changed the tone of the colours.

I then added some stamping with Jet Black Stazon and a little wet embossing with some distress embossing powder.
I then pulled out a few of my cabechon's, bezels, metal filigrees and cogs to decorate with.

After much umming and arrrring I finally settled on this

Here are the glamour pics

That's my quick Autumn Inspired tag share.  I had so much fun with this.  I think I need to play like this more often...I hope I have inspired you to pull out what you have and just experiment.  You never know what you will create!!  As usual guys here are all the links to Faith Pocock Craft Studio

Altered Mini Clock

Hi all.  Gosh it feels like an age since I last wrote a post, but I know that it's only been a week or so.  I think it's because I have jammed an awful of creating in since my last project share and time is going by so fast, I can hardly keep up anymore.

Today I have a wee little clock to share with you all.  I just love altering everyday items and I have had this little clock stashed away for quite sometime now.   I received the Greaphic 45 Gilded lily collection as part of my DT kit for Faith Pocock Craft Studio Ltd and thought the soft shabby colours would be perfect for altering this little clock with.

I began with totally dismantling my clock...

Once I had it all dismantled I roughened up the surface and then painted the whole thing with a couple of coats of gesso....

After they all dried I got stuck into the fun stuff...DECORATING!!!  I managed to snap off a few process pics along the way...

Here are a couple of close ups on those gorgeous little flowers.  You can find these over at the Faith Pocock Craft Studio Ltd store.

and here are a few glamour shots....

Well readers, that is all I have for you today.   Thanks for joining me and as always, please come join us on....
