A Mini Mixed Media Canvas

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog.  Well this week I have been one might busy crafter! what with DT commitments mounting up and this ever growing pile of pocket letters!! I tell you I will be crafting for a month of Sundays to catch up.  But boy is it fun.   So this week I had a chance to play with some of those gorgeous supplies from FPCS and a wee little canvas. I covered it with dictionary paper and then sat there staring at it for a good while....hoping that it would just scrap itself or waiting for inspiration to strike!! So I took a leap of faith (lol no pun intended) and tried my hand at some mixed media and a touch of finnebar....Now please be gentle with me this is not my usual style and I was taking one giant almighty step out of my comfort zone with this one...

I have remembered to take a few process pics along the way and here they are

Here are some of the supplies I grabbed.  I also drew a rough outline on my canvas where I wanted my elements to go.

I trimmed down an old zipper from my stash

and added a brick wall with modelling paste....

I added a touch of Lindy's Stamp Gang Gold Dubloon and then began laying everything out on the canvas and just fiddling a little bit here and there till I was happy with the layout.

I  then gesso-ed everything twice.

While they were drying I added some more gesso to the canvas and some Lindy's Stamp Gang in Gossamer Gold, Dark Chocolate Truffle and Tibetan Poppy Teal.

and this was my first coat.  I thought it was a bit dull and needed more colour ....
So I added more Tibetan  Poppy Teal..

but it still felt like it needed something else....like it needed some warmth.  So I added some Autumn Maple Crimson and look at what happened....

I just love how it turned it ....it went this gorgeous purple with the Tibetan Poppy teal still bleeding through in places....

I actually have no real glamour shots to share this week, just these two...

Altered Mini Hat Box

Heya all, Today, I am excited to share with you all my second design team project for the month of May...I have chosen to alter this cute little mini hat box.   I have used the gorgeous Parisian Daydream Collection from Tsunami Rose Designs.  I loooove these papers guys!!  They are just sooo gorgeous.  They are a peachy/pink offset by black and they have that lovely parisian shabby chic feel to them.  I can't wait to create with them some more and I know I say this all the time, but this collection really is inspiring. I am dying to create a mini album and a gorgeous parisian feel tag...my mind is just running with ideas.   This is what the Parisian Daydream kit looks like and if you click the photo it will take you straight to the kit on Etsy.

I have some of the prints from these pages...

and some fussy cuts from the Ephemera

Anyway, I digress!!  Back to my mini hat box. Here is what she looked like before....

and here she is in all her splendour now!!

I have inked all the edges with Tin Holtz "Black Soot" and "Tattered Rose" distress inks.  Both of these teamed up perfectly with this collection.

A Layout to share...

Hi all and welcome to my creative inspiration share for Mad About Scrappin.  This week I have a layout that I created from all the scraps from these kits....
.....and here is what I created.
As usual readers here are my glamour pics and some close ups on the details/

I have used some Tim Holtz "Black Soot" Distress ink on the edges.  It tied in some of the black elements I have used on the page and it also made the colours pop that little bit more.
I have also used and edge punch to add some variety to my strips
and also here on the edge of layouts background.
I love these gorgeous pink flowers and they teamed up perfectly with the papers and doily.  I have added a touch of bling with these flourishes from my stash and....

....bye also sprinkling a few of the silver sequins you can see here

This was a super quick layout to do and I just love how versatile these papers are. Well readers, that is it....that's all there is....

As always thanks for stopping by.  I sure do enjoy your company. Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have been up to...

Botanical Tea Card and gift bag

Hi all and welcome to this weeks Creative inspiration project for Mad About Scrappin.  I am still revisiting  a previous kit Leanne had sent.  I was pleasantly surprised at just how much of this kit I still had, even after using it to create with last week.  So I thought that whilst I had iut our of the hoard vault I would create a gift bag and matching card for my friend as well.

The bag was a plain white one that I had managed to pick up in a cheap craft supply store recently, and the card base is from a previous kit.

Well readers even after 3 cups of coffee to try to kick start the old grey matter, I really haven't got a great deal to say, these gorgeous glamour shots really do a lot of the talking for me.

I have used up a lot of supplies from my previous kits, and few pieces of bling from my stash.

Well readers, that is is it from me this week.  Thanks for stopping by and as always please click the links below to see what my fellow creative team has to share.  Also be sure to check out what kits are available this month in the store....

~✿New Beginnings✿~

Hi all, I am super excited to share with you all today my first project for Tsunami Rose Designs.  I have to say I just love all of Daisy's kits and it was so hard to choose. Daisy is the owner and graphic designer of Tusnami Rose Design  However I thought, for my first project, I would try out this gorgeous butterfly themed kit below.

I really love the gorgeous pinks and purples, with just a hint of green that Daisy has used throughout this kit.  My project was to alter a gift bag with a vintage feel and this journal kit lent itself to the task perfectly.

I have managed to grab a few process shots this time....

I started with one of these larger Kraft gift bags measuring 13cm x 24cm and layered it up both sides with this lovely text print

I also did some fussy cutting.  I added glossy accents and flat back pearls.

Sorry guys, but that's where my process pics end and the glamour shots begin.  After this I got into my zone and just totally forgot to take photos...
