Using up my leftovers

Hey guys, thanks for joining me again to day.  It is monday down here in Australia and that means it is my Mad About Scrappin project share.  Today I have some cards that I have created using a whole bunch of leftovers from some of my previous design team kits.  I have also used some cut files from the Silhouette Studio.

My first set are created from using up some of the leftovers from  My Minds Eye - The Sweetest Thing Collection.  These papers came in my design team kit from way back in January. I just loved working with these papers again....they have a great summery feel to them and summer is just around the corner for us.

I received some feathers in my kit this month and these were perfect embellishments for these cards.  I have inked up the edges with a little Tim Holtz Aged Mahogony.  On the card just below, I teamed them up with some baby pink seam binding, a pastel cherry blossom and some pretty pink pearl flower trim.

For the second card, I have used what was left of the white feathers, more leftovers from The Sweetest Thing and another cherry blossom from the bright set.

My Second set of cards are created from the Graphic 45 Botannical Tea paper pad that I received in May's design kit.

I have used backgrounds from the Silhouette Studio, which I teamed up with some card kit elements that I also found in the Silhouette Studio.  These files certainly cut my work in half and created simple but elegant cards for any occasion.  To the "Cherish" card I added one of the mulberry paper butterflies that I received in a recent kit.  I really love the simplicity of this design as it really does show off the background.

To embellish the second card I have used a mix of mulberry paper flowers that I have received in my kits throughout the year and just a dash of bling.

Well guys that's it from me today, another short but sweet post.  Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have to inspire you all....

As always thanks for stopping by.  I sure do enjoy your company and till next time.

Double Layout

Wow guys it has really been a month of firsts for me.  I have found this months challenge really really inspirational - just in case you haven't noticed ;).  This month our challenge was to scrap a card, tag, layout or off the page project with this saying....
and I thought I would finish the monthly challenge up with a double page layout.  Yep, you guessed it,  my first ever!!!

Well guys there's not much to tell about this one.  It has turned out really "traditional" in it's style.  I have used some papers that have been in my stash since 2009.  They are from a company called Unique Boutique and I am not sure they even exist anymore.  I do love the blue and brown tones. The photo above shows my layout before I added my pics.  I have used flowers from Mad About Scrappin.  The lace trim came in my design team kit.  I have added some bling and seam binding from my stash.  I have used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the sentiment.

Here are some close ups and I have now added some random family shots.

Well guys that is it from me today.  Have you all had a go at the Monthly Challenge yet? I hope you have .... don't forget to link your projects to be in the running for the prize.   Next week I have a little upcycled project to share with you all.  Please stop by and check it out...and stop by the links below to catch up with what my creative team mates have been up to.

Family Collage Frame

Hey all I am here to day to share with you all my first time scrapping with one of these collage frames.
I picked up two of these  recently and thought that this would be a perfect project for this month's challenge.  I have used the gorgeous Madame Payraud collection from Papermania.  OMG guys these papers are to die for!!! I have loved working with them and I am really hoping to get a few more projects out of what I have left over.

I gave my collage frame a base coat of white gesso and then a couple of top coats with Antique White Acrylic paint.  Once the paint had dried I went around the edges of the frame with some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain to add that vintage touch.  I grabbed an emery board and in places I sanded the frame back to the bare wood to try and get a bit of an aged effect.

I have matted the frame with Kaisercraft Coffee Bean it was the perfect shade of brown for this project.  I then added a sheet from the Madame Payraud collection and filled the frames with sepia prints of my family.  I double matted all my little prints on some more of the Kaisercraft Coffee Bean and also a layer of the Bazil Vanilla.

Once I had all my photos sorted and in their frames, I began adding the embellishments and the monthly challenge quote.

I have gone with my usual flower cluster in the top left and corner.  I have used an elcelctic mis of flowers from Leanne and some from my stash along with some chipboard and antique bronze metal filigree leaves.
I have added a few of the fabulous charms from this month's kit along with a strip of the pink lace.  This really accented the brown and cream so well....prettied it up nicely and added that touch of shabbyness to it

I have added one of the chipboard words that was also in this month's kit.  I have also added some charms, keys, flowers and a few Kraft feathers that were also included in my kit

Well everyone that is my project share for this week.  I thoroughly enjoyed creating this collage frame and the quote from this month's challenge fitted in perfectly.

Artist Trading Blocks

Hi all, welcome to this weeks Mad About Scrappin project share.  Now I might be a little late jumping on to the band wagon where these little cuties are concerned, but OMG guys have you seen these? Artist Trading Blocks!! I am hooked!! I want to make more!!  They are going to make awesome gift giving ideas and christmas is now only a few months away??  No harm in getting in early hey?

I have just used the basic cube as my foundation.  I created three different sizes 2 inches, 2.5 inches and the base block is three inches.  There are templates for these cubes all over the net so I won't bore you with the "how-to" details.  I have upcycled some cereal boxes to make mine.  I was really after a strong sturdy block.  I then inked them with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and covered them with Papermania's Madame Payraud collection....LOVE these papers!!

So here are my glamour shots.  I haven't added photo mats and  frames yet.  I am enjoying it just the way that it is, but there is lots of space for small family pics and of course the Monthly Challenge quote.

Sewing Themed Shadow Box

G'day everyone and welcome to my first post for Faith Pocock Craft Studio Ltd.  Faith is a very close friend and I am proud and honoured to be on this creative journey with her, as her friend and as her creative designer.  I hope that you will join me twice month as I endeavour to share with you all my creations using her arty crafty supplies.  Please PLEASE stop by her new online store and check out what she has currently in stock!!  You are sure to find something unique.

Today I wanted to share with you all my little sewing themed shadow box. This was a thrift store find a few months back and I have had it sitting here waiting for the perfect project.  When I opened my creative designer kit from Faith and spotted the gorgeous little cotton reels and the tiny little birds I knew exactly what I was going to create. I have used a mix of papers from Kaisercrafts Needle and Thread, along with some of the sewing emphemera from DCWV - The Haberdash Stack.

I used the Tim Holtz Sewing Room die and decorated the dress form with some the gorgeous little paper flowers along with some of the flower stickpins.

My button card was created using a cut out from the DCWV paper pad and some buttons from my stash.  I topped it with some hand dyed seam binding and one of the resin baby cameo's  that were in this months kit.

I layered these on top of a paper doily with some of the heart stickpins tucked in behind.

I have added some die cuts from Kaisercrafts Needle and Threads Collectibles and accompanied them with one of the gorgeous tiny little birds on top of the small cotton spools.  The spools and birds are a brand new item to FPCSL and will be loaded on the site real soon so keep an eye out for them!!  and I just had to use one of the wee little bottles that Faith stuck in my kit.  These are just so tiny and so cute....perfect to hold a sprinkling of tiny seed beads.

I hope you have enjoyed my first post and my Shabby little shadow box.

Thanks for joining me today.  Please be sure to check out all the links and come back real soon to see what else we have been creating in the studio. Thanks for joining me.
