Monday Project Share

Hi all, I am back again!!  This time I have  a layout to share with you all for my Monday Mad About Scrappin project.  Again I have used leftovers from My Minds Eye - The Sweetest Thing.  I have just about exhausted this range.  There is enough for just one more layout....and if I am lucky I maybe able to stretch it to two!!  I love these papers and have really enjoyed creating with them.

The pics I have used are a couple of selfies hubby and I took on our South Coast getaway. I just love this background ledger paper and found it hard to actually use. BUT!! It was the perfect back drop for this layout.

I am always at a loss as to what to say about my layouts.  I always find it hard to know where to start!! I guess I will begin with the background

I sprayed the background with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray in Tiffany blue....I love this colour and it added just the right tone to the background.  I also used some of Lindys Marigold Yellow Orange.  I splattered both onto my page and then added some little drops of glossy accents to some of the splatters.

I have used some co-ordinating washi tape from my stash to stick down a piece of paper doily and I adhered some wood veneers to create a title.
I really do love the corner cluster technique - as you may have noticed!! and I tend to use it on just about all my layouts.  Here I have used a selection of paper roses that I layered up on some more of that paper doily and an ornate frame that I have cut up and placed at both ends.

I have also added a sprinkling of little enamel dots and a couple of rubons from my stash.

I do hope you have enjoyed my layout and I have inspired you all to dive into your stash and create!!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all the Mad About Scrappin links below.

A little Tag Inspiration

Hey guys .... how's your weekend so far?  Mine has just started and it is already HOT !!

Today I have a little tag to share with you all.  Hopefully I can inspire you to dig into your stash and have some fun with what you find.   I dug into mine and found all this...

Some old pigment ink pads I bought on ebay many moons ago

some old wooden tags from Kaisercraft....again bought many moons ago

a packet of my sons old water colour pencils...hardly ever used mind you!!

Plus a few leftovers from previous kits from Mad About Scrappin....oops I almost forgot my brick stencil, modelling paste and acrylic paint..crackle stamp, kaisercraft rubons Perfect pearls mist in biscotti

I don't know about you guys but when I start to play like this I always do a little test run to see how everything is going to work together.  I was really happy with how this turned lets get down to the nitty gritty.

Hopefully  I have taken enough process pics to share with you a bit of a walkthrough on how I achieved my tag...

One of my first steps was to prep the tag by painting it with some acrylic paint around the edges and glue some cream textured cardstock to it....I wanted to cover up those slots you may have noticed in the pic up above.

I adhered my cardstock with some wet glue and then stamped it all over with my crackle effect stamp. I did do both sides of my tag.  I have used Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink.

I gave this just a few minutes to dry and then taking some make up wedges I applied the pigment inks.  I guess I got a bit busy, cause the only pic I have of this process it this one.

I applied my other colours in the same way.  Once I was happy with the inking part...I moved onto getting messy with the modelling paste and created my brick wall

Once this had dried, I applied some green  ink to the bottom of my tag. I grabbed the black water colour pencil and lightly coloured in between the bricks, the taking the water brush I gently blended it all over and even into the bricks a little.  I did this a couple of times, till I was happy with it.  I tried not to rush it and make it too dark.
After the water brushing I began spraying it with the Perfect Pearls Mist in "Biscotti"

I just love the effect that the Perfect Pearls mist really muted these bright colours and added some subtle glimmer too.

I even sprayed the brick work :).  I did have a bit of a panic attack tho' do you see those bubbles or ripples in the paper?  I thought "Oh no!!! I have wrecked it!!" , but once the tag was completely dry they disappeared ..... phewwww!!
I then moved onto the back of the tag and repeated the inking and spraying.
Once the back was dry I started playing around with some paper flowers I had received in previous kits.  I fussy cut some butterflies from the Madame Payraud collection and cut up a rubon.

The final step was hot gluing everything into place!!

And here are the "glamour" shots :)

At the last minute, I stamped the back of the tag with this stamp from Tim Holtz.  Just couldn't leave it blank ;)

I hope this inspires you to dive into your stash, dig out those old supplies and have a play around.  I have to admit this turned out much better than I  thought it would.  But most of all I had fun with it and embraced the imperfections!!

Mixed Media Layout - Smile

G'day everyone,  just wanted to quickly share with you all a layout I have created using some elements from Faith Pocock Craft Studio Ltd and an eclectic mix of papers and diecuts.  The papers are from a really old We Are Memory Keepers paper pad called "Tiffany".  I have had this stack for yonks and thought it was high time I busted it out and used it.

There really isn't a great deal to tell about this one.   I have added some splatters from Lindy's Stamp gang sprays....Tiffany blue and Cotton Candy Pink.  I also added some texture using a stencil and modelling paste.

I have also added some really loosely woven cheesecloth behind some of the layers.

.....added a banner to the bottom of the picture and punched the borders.
The die-cuts and journalling spots I have used are from The Sweetest Thing by My Minds Eye.  The just went perfectly with this layout and with the papers!!

Well guys, thanks for stopping by and taking a look, please come like Faith's Store on Facebook and check out all the latest by clicking the links below.

Madame Payraud Upcycled Can

Hey there my lovelies and welcome back to another Mad About Scrappin Monday project share.  Today I have up-cycled an old stewed fruit can into a pen holder for my kitchen.  These are a quick, easy project and use up all those scraps you have....and I know you have them ;)  I also reckon they would make great gift  giving ideas that even the kidlets could do.

So without any further are some more pics of my shabby chic slash vintage pen holder!!

I have used the wonderful Madame Payraud paper collection from my last kit along with some.....
....curly roses, paper roses and one of my large crocheted flowers.  I embellished with a few cut outs from the collection, hessian(burlap) ribbon, blue lace and I topped this with some pearl flower bead trim.  I have also snuck in one of my handmade stickpins, but you only just see it in these pics.

So my lovelies, that's all I have for you today.  I do hope you have enjoyed my layout and I have inspired you all to dive into your stash and create!! If you do get to create something like, please share it with me...I would love to see it.   Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all the Mad About Scrappin links below.

Serenity Layout

Guess what?? It's Monday again....OMGOSH guys these Mondays seem to be rolling around quicker and quicker don't they?  It's time again for my Mad About Scrappin Monday project share and today I have a layout using some leftovers from various kits I have recevied throughout the year and My Minds Eye - The Sweetest Thing papers.  I have to admit to hoarding the papers....just a little bit ;)  They are so great that I found it hard to cut them up or even ink them up, but I thought it was time to bust them out and get creative with them.

I snapped this pic of some pelicans on my recent getaway to the South Coast of New South Wales....and every time I look at it I think of the well known line "How's the Serenity"  ...from the Aussie movie "The Castle" .

so I just had to use it as a title on this layout.

Well readers there's not much to tell,  I have used a random bunch of embellishments from some of my previous kits as well as some from my stash.  I have added some background stamping and I lightly spritzed the layout with some Tattered Angels - Twilight glimmer mist.

So guys, that's it for me, yet another quick post this week.  I do hope you have enjoyed my layout and I have inspired you all to dive into your stash and create!!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all the Mad About Scrappin links below.
