The Memory Nest Sketch Challenge

Hey guys just wanted to quickly share with you all my take on the "Make it Monday" Challenge No. 26.  The sketch was designed by Crystal and went like this.

I only changed this up a little bit and just mirrored the layout.  So here is what how mine turned out.

And here are some close up pics on some of the details.

To create this layout I dusted off a couple of really old pads from my stash..DCWV's Trade Winds and K&Company's "Sea Grass".  I have used the latter to create the two larger mats and my flowers, whilst the  back ground and thin strip at the bottom of the sketch come from the Trade Winds stack.  I have also added a bird diecut from an old Kaisercraft collectibles set.  It was just the right element and matched the colours perfectly.

Well everyone that is my real quick share for you all today.  You can find these challenges over at
The Memory Nest under the "Make it Monday" tab  or just click here the pic below.

Thanks for joining me today.

Hi all.  Today I have a layout I have created for Faith Pocock Craft Studio Ltd to share with you. I started to dabble more and more with mixed media recently, especially with my layouts.  I have also started using my collection of Lindy Stamp Gang sprays instead of hoarding them.  In the layout below I have used Lindys to lightly mist the background and to make some large splatter spots.  I added some Glossy Accents to these a few of the larger splodges to give some dimension to them.  My background sheet was from a very old Basic Grey collection.  I am finally getting to use up a lot of my old papers using the mixed media style of scrapping.

Here is a close up on my splodges ;)

I have used quite a few of embellishments from my Creative Designer kit.  The supplies I have used are:-
Here are some close ups on the embellies.

I really loved using this little bird Faith sent me.  They are just so cute !!  and the perfect size for using on cards, tags and layouts!!
The photos I have used are more of the girls taken at the miniature train rides in Taumarunui - Mana Ariki Marae.

Well readers that is all I have for you today.  Please be sure to check out the shop to see what is in stock and don't forget to like the facebook page to keep up to date with all the pre-orders and new arrivals.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to create!!!store/cvf3

Halloween Gift Set

Hey everyone thanks for joining me again and welcome to my Mad About Scrappin Monday project share!! This week I wanted to share with you all a gift set...or maybe gift giving ideas.  I have used Graphic 45's "An Eerie Tale" that I received in a previous Mad About Scrappin kit.  I love these papers...they are not so spooky and the lovely rose prints make them chic and elegant.

I have altered a small kraft paper gift bag with the papers and embellished it with some paper roses, ribbons, lace and a couple of black feathers from my last kit.  I added a seam binding bow to the handles.

The little pillow box was created from the cut out that is on the inside cover of the 8x8 paper pad.  I have used the same embellishments as the paper bag and added a little lace in one corner to create a little hanger.

Last, but not least, is the card.  I have used black cardstock as my base and also to mat the different layers.  I used a border punch to add the lacey accent.

The leaves and pine branches were also paper punches.

I have also matted the inside of the card and added a rubon border from my stash.

Well guys that's it from me today, another short but sweet post.  Please be sure to check out the links below to see what my other creative team mates have to inspire you all....

As always thanks for stopping by.  I sure do enjoy your company and till next time.

Monthly Challenge - Take 2

Good morning everyone, I am back with a second  take on the Mad About Scrappin Monthly challenge.  This month our challenge is ....

Would love to see your take on this.

Anyways without any further ado here is my second layout.  This time I have chosen a more recent song title.... Because I'm Happy - by Pharrell Williams. Lately I have been experimenting with more mixed media techniques and adding stamping to my backgrounds and also adding random embellishments from mixed collections.  In this layout I have used various tags, journalling spots and embellishments from my stash.  I love how this style of scrapbooking is fantastic for using up your stash!!!
I have used a mix of papers from some of my past Creative team kits.  The base page is one from the Pink Paislee Collection Cottage Farms Collection.  I have added some stamping and using Lindy's stamp gang sprays I have splattered the background.  I also added some texture past which I sprayed and then quickly wiped off so that there were some white patches.
To create my title I have used various alphabet stickers from my stash and my strips are just leftovers from The Sweetest Thing collection by My Minds Eye.  The embellishments are just random bits n pieces from my stash and leftovers from various creative team kits.  I have hidden some journalling away in one of the little bags that were in this months kit....I just love these bags!!! I think I have just about covered are some more pics on all the details and embellishments I used.  You can even see a little bit of the crackle stamp I used!!

Well guys that is yet another quick post it from me for this week,.  I do hope you have enjoyed my second take on this month's challenge and I look forward to seeing what you all create for this.  Remember it doesn't have to be a could be a card, a tag or maybe an off the page project!!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all the Mad About Scrappin links below.

Journey Layout

Hi everyone, I have a real quick share for you all today and it is a layout I have done for Faith Pocock Craft Studio Ltd.  I created this using some old - really old - Kaisercraft papers. Faith recently shared some happy snaps of her gorgeous girls at Taumarunui - Mana Ariki Marae - longest miniature train rides and I was so inspired by them that I just had to scrap them.

I began with my blank page......

and added some splatters of Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays, random stamping and some sticker embellishments from my stash.  I also heavily distressed the edges with some scissors and Walnut stain distress ink.  I then added a border with my sewing machine....  So by the time I got done playing this is what my page looked like....

Here's a closer look at some of the details...

I then glued this top layer to some Chocolate Brown Cardstock and co-ordinating sheet from the same collection.

I have mounted the photo onto some corrugated cardboard.  I inked the edges up with some Aged Mahogany distress ink and added some random emphemera and tags I had in my stash.

I have added some metal charms from my creative designer kit.   I created a flowerspray using cream flowers from my kit and red berries from my stash.  The craft leaves are some I cut with the SIlhouette Cameo and stamped with a script stamp.

I have added some tags for journalling and the stamped title "Journey".

Well guys that's it, another quick post!!.  Please be sure to check out the shop to see Faiths recent listings and be sure to keep an eye out for the pre-orders!!

Thanks for stopping by this week.

Upcycled Book cover

Hey everyone thanks for joining me again and welcome to my Mad About Scrappin Monday project share!! This week I wanted to share with you all an expandable file folder I created by upcycling an old hard cover book and some old manilla folders I have in my stash and the Madame Payraud collection from Papermania.

Now lets see where to begin a bit of a walk through for you all.  I began by re-inforcing the book spine with some corrugated cardboard.  Sorry guys forgot to take a pic of that step.  I then covered the book with the Madame Payraud papers.

Out of some old manilla file folders I created the concertina sides.....

I then attached the inside dividers so that it resembles the pic down below

Once all my dividers were attached I then adhered the inner file to the book covers with some extra strong doublesided tape
OOOO I almost forgot that I glued down some seam binding to make a closure for the file folder
The pic below shows how I attached the files.....
and vwala!! all done!! I now have somewhere safe to store all my diecut words and embellishments !!!!
Below is a side on view of the concertina sides.

This is "her" before her makeover ;)

and this is after adding all the gorgeous embellishments that Leanne included in my DT kit.

I have to admit I am delighted with how this turned out.  Please be sure to check out the Mad About Scrappin store to see the latest range of embellishments and papers..... AANNNNDDD have you had a go at this months challenge yet?

Don't forget to give this a go and post your projects over on our facebook page.

October Song Title Challenge.

Hello everyone, Well it's October and a new month means a new challenge.  This month Mad About Scrappin is having a "Song Title" Challenge and to participate all you have to do is....

....and then share with us on Facebook and link it up with the Mad About Scrappin blog.

So guys here is my take on the challenge...

I have chosen "On the Road Again" - not a very imaginative song title I know, but it went perfectly with Kaisercrafts Check in paper collection and with my photo's!! These pics were snapped when we were on holidays in the beautiful North Island of New Zealand.   This was on the road to the Buried Village of Te Wairoa along the Tarawera Road in Rotorua.  In front of us were the stunning Blue and Green Lakes.

To create the title I have used the letter sheet from the collection.  I added some glimmer sprays, inking and stamping to the background.  The ring and splat stains are from the Kaisercraft stamp set "Stains".  I stamped these with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Walnut Stain and also added some random stamping using the "Sketchy" set from Kaisercraft.

I have added some cutouts from the paper pad and also embellishments from the co-ordinating  Check in collectibles pack.

Well guys that is it from me for this week, yet another quick post.  I do hope you have enjoyed my take on this month's challenge and I look forward to seeing what you all create for this.  Remember it doesn't have to be a could be a card, a tag or maybe an off the page project!!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out all the Mad About Scrappin links below.
