Hello everyone, I am back with another project share - a pink one, a VERY pink one. I have seen a lot of these altered paintbrushes going up within our crafting community here in cyberspace and I have been dying to alter one. Well I have finally got to do just that this week. I found some 3" chip paint brushes in my local hardware store. What I really loved about these paint brushes was the raw wooden handle. It meant less work - no sanding or extra coats of gesso to cover up a pre-painted handle. Down side of this I could only get them in 2" and 3" sizes.
so here is the before pic. I have also managed to take a few pics of the process, but not many.
I painted the paint brush with Kaisercraft "Pretty Pink" acrylic paint mixed with some white acrylic paint to soften it up some more. I then stamped on some white tissue paper with black stazon ink and my script stamp and glued this with Jo Sonja's Decoupage Lacquer to the handle.
I created a pearl stickpin with hanging charm
and tucked it into the layers of my flower
and here it is..... the finished project. I love how this turned out and I really wish now that I had grabbed more paintbrushes than just 3.... I am definitely going to be creating more....
I have added some seam binding to the back of the paint brush with a drawing pin so that it can hang....I just prettied the pin up with a flat back pearl I adhered with Rangers Glossy Accents.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read. I love to hear what you have to say and what you all think about my projects. It is wonderful to read all your fabulous comments. Can someone tell me?, if I reply to you....do you get an email notification or anything to let you know I have responded? I would be interested to know....
