PINK!! Very Pink!! Altered Paintbrush

Hello everyone, I am back with another project share - a pink one, a VERY pink one.   I have seen a lot of these altered paintbrushes going up within our crafting community here in cyberspace and I have been dying to alter one.  Well I have finally got to do just that this week.  I found some 3" chip paint brushes in my local hardware store.  What I really loved about these paint brushes was the raw wooden handle.  It meant less work - no sanding or extra coats of gesso to cover up a pre-painted handle.  Down side of this I could only get them in 2" and 3" sizes.

so here is the before pic.  I have also managed to take a few pics of the process, but not many.

I painted the paint brush with Kaisercraft "Pretty Pink" acrylic paint mixed with some white acrylic paint to soften it up some more.  I then stamped on some white tissue paper with black stazon ink and my script stamp and glued this with Jo Sonja's Decoupage Lacquer to the handle.
Then the fun part began....not that the other stuff was boring, but for me the embellishing steps are the best part!  I began layering some strips of Kaisercraft - "The Lakehouse"  collection to the brush.  Oh and yes as you can see I painted the bristles with the same pink wash and added some Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress ink to the tips.
I have cut up some pearl and bling flourishes to wrap around the handle.  I have also added one of crocheted flowers, some lace, ribbon and a cut up doily to go layer my flower on.
I created a pearl stickpin with hanging charm
and tucked it into the layers of my flower

and here it is..... the finished project.  I love how this turned out and I really wish now that I had grabbed more paintbrushes than just 3.... I am definitely going to be creating more....

I have added some seam binding to the back of the paint brush with a drawing pin so that it can hang....I just prettied the pin up with a flat back pearl I adhered with Rangers Glossy Accents.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read.  I love to hear what you have to say and what you all think about my projects.  It is wonderful to read all your fabulous comments.  Can someone tell me?, if I reply to you get an email notification or anything to let you know I have responded?  I would be interested to know....
