My Dabblings in Mixed Media Pt II

Now let me see where do I begin?   Today I sorted through my chipboard pieces chose some butterfly flourishes and some leafy vines and began inking with more Tea Dye and Walnut stain.

I then gathered some paper flowers.....
I know, I was going to use Mulberry, wellllll I decided to have a go at making some of my own out of these precut ones from Kaisercraft - at least I think they're Kaiser ones .
I have inked and stamped some up with Aged Mahogany....

Spritzed them with some Lindys Stamp Gang Rambling Rose Pink.... can you see it shimmer???
Gotta love that shimmer!!!
I then used the end of a small paint brush and smooched them up around till the looked like this.
Don't they look so pretty?  So glad I had a go at making these!!

                         I was so pleased with the result that I took some smaller cream flowers;
sprayed them with some of Lindy's "Creme Brulee Cream"
and then smooched them together too.

Once I had glued two layers together I lightly inked the edges with some Tea dye.

Now that all my flowers were was time to start the layering and glueing down :).
Beginning with a small paper doily cut in half - ish and layered.

Then it was time for the chipboard butterfly flourishes

Whilst these layers dried I set to work on my chipboard leaves.  I gave them a light coat of white acrylic paint....once that dried, I grabbed my stipple brush and dabbed my homemade texture paste all over them

Then added some Old Paper distress ink to them

Don't they look gorgeous??  Well as gorgeous as leaves get lol.

Sorry folks, I then got caught up in the creative process and forgot to take pics of the layering as I went...

Here are a couple of close ups of what I had done.....and yes,
that is one Mulberry paper flower that you see there

and here is where I tucked my little Creme Brulee flower

Whilst all those layers up there were drying, I set about attacking my dress form.
Armed with my handy dandy stipple brush and texture paste I stippled the chipboard dress form

Then more of my favourite pink Lindy's....

and here she is...."dressed" - so to speak    ;)

A close up on the stippling with the texture paste and the that effect!!

Now back to my canvas board to add the word "Dream" which I cut from cardstock on my cricut.
I also stippled this with texture paste; sprayed it with Lindy's; inked it with Tea Dye and Walnut stain.
Sorry :( I got carried away creating again and totally forgot to photograph the process!

My final layer was some printed words .... the little affirmation reads:-

are whispers
for your

and as you might be able to tell I have now lost all natural light ....  :'(  boo hoo.....
the fluorescent light in my scrap room totally changes the colours.
Anyway here it is ..... all done!!

I will come back tomorrow and share photo's taken on my camera and not my smart phone.....
and in natural light...

Thanks so much for joining me on this creative journey.
Please leave a comment, let me know what you think....
