Here is what I have been doing on these cold winter nights!!....all snuggled up in front of the TV and crocheting away to my hearts content....I just love how these ruffled roses have turned out!!
Some May flowers for my US sisters!!
.....I am so sorry everyone....Life really has taken over these last few months and I feel like I have just been chasing my tail....trying hard to catch up with all my projects....without much success. Anyhoo without any further ado here is JAFF latest project. This month we are bringing you a layout challenge....just in time for National Scrapbooking Day!!! ;) We would love to see as many of you as possible scrap along with us on this sketch layout challenge. We have up for grabs a great Hello Kitty Prize....just check out Elsa's blog for all the details on how to be in it to win it!! Here is the sketch we have all used to create our Mothers Day layouts.
SO our challenge to you this month is to create a 12x12 or 8x8 layout using whatever ribbons, laces, trims or embellishments you have. You can make it vintage-y or grungey or even shabby chic!!
I agonised, and perhaps procrastinated, a little too long over what photo's to use and I just couldn't decide what to do....so I thought I would do two layouts and use both lots of photo's....
This is one of my boys and I. The photo's are taken on our national day - Australia Day....one in 2000 and one from this year.....look how much they have grown!! :) I have flipped the layout to give it a bit of a different spin!! Just love to bend the rules a little. The papers I have used are from We R Memory Keepers - Teenage Angst. I bought this pad about two or three years ago now and this is the first time I have used it!!Instead of ribbon and flowers to embellish I used some gears and rosettes.
.....and this is my second one...These are the only two photo's I have of my Mum & I together when I was a bub and I just couldn't NOT scrap them for Mothers Day :) For this layout I stuck to the sketch a little more than the first...guess you could say I conformed more!!!! I have used the Shabby Chic collection from Tim Holtz and a few of Timmy's embellishments I had lying around. I substituted the ribbon for the film strip
and Grunge board Alpha's that I stained with Aged Mahogany Distress ink and then coated them with some Crackle accents.
So be sure to pounce on over and check out everyone's purrrrrrrrrfect creations, starting with Suzie. Thanks soooo much for stopping by and remember.....
.......Rooooaaarrr with Pride
hugs to you all
PS: Happy National Scrapbooking Day...Hope you all have a Scrapping good time!!
