. . . ~ Surprise the Pride~ . . .

Welcome everyone to our Surprise the Pride prowl for August.  First it is with some sadness that I have to say that Elsa ~ our Den mother ~  is unable to prowl with us this month.  Life and family have kept her very busy this past month, which also kept her away from her love ~ crafting!! But rest assured she will be back with us all next month!! We are also without our fellow Lioness ~ Krystal......Krystal has also been forced to sit this hop out due to life and family.....Miss you both....prowling is just not the same without you!!

Ok now to get down to business and this months prowl projects.....I must say  this one has been a big secret....everyone in the den has been so quiet....I can only imagine madly scrapping away on their project.  We have all managed to keep our lips sealed and not one whisper has been heard about what we are doing.  We have no idea what each other has been creating in their dens of scrappiness!!.....and I for one can't wait to see what the rest of the pack have been up to..... Soooo without any further ado....here are my projects for this month.....

I have created a shabby chic travel suitcase.  I created this using Kathy Orta's The Journey Suitcase.  I have downsized this a little bit tho'.  My suitcase only measures 7" long x 5" wide....I have used the gorgeous High Tea papers from Fabscraps.  Have you all seen these papers yet?  OMG they are just gorgeous....and so very hard to cut into, but I am striving hard to use my stash!!

I lined my suitcase with some fabric that I found in my sewing stash....lucky for me it matched the colour tone perfectly.   I have edged the suitcase in lace and matching ribbon.

I created this shabby chic little display ~ or as my son called it ~ a diorama......I guess it kinda is hey? ;) Anyway I cut the dress form out on my cricut and used some of the papers to cover the chipboard....added various suitcase type items like the shoes, fan and photo frame!! The tickets are stamps  from a from 7 Gypsies collection (I think)
The mini was created from the same paper line and I was inspired by a mini that Kathryn from the Scrapbeach created using postcards.  I have made mine a little different.  I have created envelopes using the Martha Stewart scoreboard to hold my postcards.  Each postcard has a place for a photo and journalling.  The cover is created from some more of that beautiful paper from Fabscraps.  A piece of cardstock that I embossed in my bigshot with the cuttlebug "Textile" embossing folder; a larger silk flower; a stickpin that I received in a recent swap from Delta Lioness Suzie and some recollections bling!!  I have bound the mini with my zutter and tied some lovely soft vintage seam binding to the rings and I made a simple hanging charm .

I have kept the layout and format of this mini very simple and as flat as I could so that it would be able to fit into the suitcase afterwards.  I have used more of the Fabscraps High Tea collection throughout the whole mini and some of their flowers that can be bought to accent their papers.  These flowers are pre-cut and created using the Tim Holtz method we all know so well.  The rest of the flowers are mulberry paper flowers I have in my stash...I have used lots of Timmy distress inks to ink the edges of the envelopes and postcards in Aged Mahogony, Tea Dye, Victorian Velvet and just a hint of Walnut Stain.

Well that is my scrappiness this month.....hope you have all enjoyed my "Surprise the Pride" project....please prowl and pounce on over to the rest of the Dens to see what purrrrrrfectly creative scrappiness they all have in store for you....

Please be sure to leave a comment....I love to read your feedback.....and will do my best to answer any questions you may have on my projects.

Remember to always ......
.........Rooooaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr  with Pride
