Okaaaayyyyy . . . . .

 . . . . . . I am back . . . .I didn't get very far with the cleaning.

                                                      . . . . . . .can't you tell :)

It was far more appealing to come back here and share with you all my creation/s for this week.  There are two parts to my project and I promise that as soon as I have cleared up enough space to take some pics of the second half I will be back to share it with you.

Now for the first half . . . . . . I took one of these little gum boxes . . . . . . .

. . . . . . and I "re-thunk" it.

As you can see I gently pulled it apart so that it retained it's shape.  I then scanned the flattened box and inserted the image or JPG into a word document.  Once I had it in word I could re-size it....so I dragged it out  to as far as I could on A4 paper - adjusting all my margins as I went!  The finished size {opened up} was 8 1/4" x 8 3/4".  This then became my template and I reprinted the traced shape out onto some cream A4 cardstock.

I then began the agonising decision of what to cover my "re-thunk" gum box with.  I finally settled on a mix of Prima's "Romantique"  and "Pixie Glen" collections.  I have used a magnet to keep the flap closed.  Embellished the flap with mulberry flowers; some pearl stamen; recollections bling; pearl trim, lace and ribbon.  Not really sure if it falls into the category of "shabby chic" but it sure looks pretty, don't you think? I am really lovin how it turned out!!

Here is the back view

and here are the two boxes, side by side, just so you can see the size difference...

and finally just a couple of close ups on the details....

The completed size of my "re-thunk" gum box is 5 1/2" long x 3" high and about half an inch thick
. . . . .just the perfect size to fit a little "something"  in don't you think :)

. . . . . . . I promise to be back real soon with part b of my Shabby chic gum box project.
Thanks so much for stopping by . . . . . .
please leave a comment . . . . I always love to hear what you think

......Love and blessing to you all
