To enter in our giveaway all you have to do is visit all my Sista Lionesses and leave them some love in the form of a comment and then all that is left to do is link one of your own purrrrfect creations or hand made St Patricks Day projects using Mr Linky over at Elsa's Den, But guys, make sure you do this before April 7th as Elsa will be announcing winners then.  You will find everyone's scrappy dens listed at the end of this post....have fun and enjoy our mini hop and GOOD LUCK to you all!!

My projects this month are not your usual, run of the mill  St Patrick's Day projects.  You see on this day five years ago...Bazz 'n' I were St Paddy's Day always has a different reason for celebrating!! For us it is a day filled with love and fun .....Therefore I wanted my projects to reflect on our day and celebrate the five wonderful years we have spent together!1  A bit mushy I know, but hey, I can't help it...I am so in love with my man!

My first project is a layout....I cannot believe how long it has been since I completed a 12x12 layout....I used to do these all the time once, but now find myself totally obsessed with mini's and other areas of paper crafting.  It was really great to get back to where my addiction first started.  I also can't believe how quickly this layout was done...must've been record time for me. I had it all done in one afternoon.

Sticking to our "Shades of Green" theme, I have used the K-Ology "Peabody" Scrap Pad to go by K&Company.  I love this pad, comes with some really lovely patterned papers and loads of green with just a hint of pink to brighten things up.  I have used my "vines" that I created, some recollection bling which I cut up and strategically placed within my vine; a flower that I received in a RAK and the paper trim is one I cut from the scrap pad on my cricut.  I have also included some sewing around the edge of my bracket shape and also to keep my paper ruffled trim together.

My second project is an altered paper mache box.   You know the ones that you can pick up at just about every dollar shop or cheap craft outlet. Again I have used the K-Ology scrap pad to go and some of the off cuts and scraps leftover from the layout.  The box is only small...about 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" so there was not a lot of scraproom .  However I created a small 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" concertina mini to fit inside.  It was just big enough to hold some mini wallet size prints and a little embellishing.

Well everyone that is my projects for our St Patricks Day mini hop....Now leave a comment on all of our projects to be eligible for the candy Elsa is giving away...and you must also use Mr Linky on Elsa's blog and link to your project!  Please don't forget to drop into the other Lionesses Dens of Scrappiness to see what purrrrfect creations they have for you all on this green green day! and remember people's .....

Trying My Hand......

Hi all back again...just wanted to show you what I tried creating this week...... A flower vine!!!

I cut myself some flowers and leaves out on my Cricut .... added some stamen to my flowers and cut a 1/4 inch strip of paper.  I rolled and twisted the paper to form a vine...added some wet glue to keep the "vine" together or in place.
I then used my hot glue gun and stuck all my leaves, flowers and twisted wires to make my own vine!!!

I was really happy with the result!! Keep an eye out for these on one of my upcoming "Shades of Green" projects for the pride.

What's in your Pocket??

Hey everyone thanks for stopping by.  I just wanted to share with you all my take on a challenge over at Scrapping Carolina.  The challenge was to create a page layout that included a pocket with a tag on one side and  to include a flap on the other or reverse page.  You were free to add whatever other elements you wished and you could use whatever style tickled your fancy lol.  I am going for a shabby chic/vintage-y/girly-girly style....I think...I'm not real sure what style it is ....eclectic???....if you know, can you please leave a comment and let me know lol ;D

Anyhooo I digress....I love this paper from Prima.  It is the Madeline collection and I have the A4 ~ or 81/4 x 11 3/4 ~ paper pad.  The challenge did require you to create a 7x7 page, but not being one to conform and not wanting to waste any of this beautiful paper I decided to cut my page in half!!

This is my first page, or the page with the flap.  I have layered the front of the flap using some cut-outs from the collection, a paper doily and some flowers.  The cluster of flowers down in the corner are some paper cherry blossoms that I have sprayed with glimmermist ~ one patina and the other is cherub pink.  I have also used one of my crocheted flowers with a small rose in the centre.  The butterfly is from K&Company and it is from their "Madeline" chipboards that they had a few years back.  I have two boxes of these butterflies and have had them stashed away. . .I thought that this was the perfect project to bust them open on...this little butterfly matched perfectly!!  The journalling spot is an old one from Theresa blended in so well!!

Underneath the flap is two photo mats or tags.  I have created a little band with the ribbon and tucked the photo mats just under.  I also included two more of those gorgeous K&Company butterflies.
This is my second page and I think it is my favourite!!   I have matted some brown cardstock with various scraps from my scrap basket and also used the music paper from the paper pad to create a large pocket. I then created another pocket using the Tim Holtz "Caged Bird" die;  Layered it with a paper rose and tucked a small tag created from the cut-outs and attached another K&Co butterfly to the top.  Tucked in side the larger pocket is another photo mat tag and a journal spot or tag.

Again I have used more of those K&Company Butterflies to embellish the photo mat
on the reverse of the photo mat I created a little pocket and have tucked another cutout from the collection inside.  This could be another place for a small photo or a place to journal!

I have thoroughly enjoyed making these pages and I am really looking forward to seeing what Tamara challenges us with next.  Please stop by her site Scrapping Carolina and check out all the other wonderful pages that have been created!! The ladies there have done some awesome work!!

Helllloooooooooo Blog Land

Hey have you all been?  Me??  I have been a little busy with life on the outside lol...outside cyberspace that is....Been busy creating and busy with all the family!! Spent a weekend away woooo hooo so nice to have a break from it all!!  Now that I am back, I am finding it hard to get back into the swing of things.  I have once again been really slack and neglecting my little blog...I really do have to get more diligent and show it much more TLC!!  SO what have you all been up to since I have been MIA???  I have been a little creative...would y'all like to see my Mariposa Mini??  I made this using the "Stack-it-up" hinge method by Laura Dension. I really loved this...the album looked awesome once it was completed.  I have to admit to adapting it a little....becuase I am such a lumpy and bumpy scrapper, I made the hinges with a half inch gap...more room for all those flowers.  This is one project that I was absolutely stoked with how it turned out!!  I didn't waste any paper...lucky cause I was using the good stuff lol.  So I will quit yakking and show you the pics!

and here is another quick share with all.  This is my take on Kathy Orta's vintage suitcase...I made mine a little smaller, but with the same papers.  This was one of  Dear Hubby's Christmas present this year....oops meant last year.  The mini inside is an ongoing project that is progressing sloooowwwwllly lol.  I loved making this...It was challenging, but well worth it!

Well I think that's it for today...At the moment I am in the middle of creating myself a weight loss junk journal.  I thought it would be a great way to keep track of my weight loss journey. Yup I am on a weight loss journey...or more a search for the thinner me lol.  I have been madly exercising to Jillian Michaels DVD's- man that women can whip you into shape!!  I am nearly there!!  Then comes the hardest part - maintianing it!!  Keeping that fat away. Not much left to do on my junk journal now...just some covering and adding some pockets, once it is done I will post some pics for you all to see.

One last thing before I go....I wanted to give a shout out to an online scrappy friend Tamara....Tamara has just opened the newest ning site on the block Scrapping Carolina please be sure to stop by and check her out.  It is early days yet, but Tamara has some great scrappy stuff planned...and who doesn't love scrappy stuff??  Would love to see you there, stop by, we would love it if you joined us for a coffee and a chat!!
