~*-:¦:-*~Happy Australia Day~*-:¦:-*~

To all my fellow Aussies out there.........
~*-:¦:-*~Happy Australia Day~*-:¦:-*~
WooooHoooo!!

I hope you all have a very enjoyable one whatever you do!!   Just remember to slip, slop slap when you're out and about in our great outdoors....Watch out today.... it is going to be hot hot HOT! wherever you are in this great country of ours!!

I have a real quick project that I worked on yesterday afternoon!!  It was tooooooooo hot to be outside, but unfortunately it was just as hot in my craft space!!  So I cranked the fan up a notch or two and scrapped a wooden plaque.   You may have noticed this in my last post....it was one of my "to do" projects.  So here it is all painted and ready to hang on our kitchen wall.

Altered Wooden Plaque

I don't know about you guys, but we always seem to be misplacing our keys!!  So now we have a place to hang them!!  I just have to remember to use it and not throw mine into the bottom of my handbag!!! ;))  Some of the steps I followed to do this quick project were to:

Paint the edges with some "Indian Red" acrylic paint

Then to cut some patterned paper to cover the front of the plaque.  Here I have used a piece from "daisyd's"....I'm not real sure if this is still available, as I have had it in my stash for about two years now!!  I then glued this down with Plaids Mod Podge Gloss Lustre.

Whilst this was drying....- which mind you didn't take long in my hot scraproom -..... I quickly painted up some chipboard letters and then applied Plaids Royalcoat Dimensional Magic...to give the letters a great thick glossy dimension and some durablity!

I went back and gave the plaque a few extra coats of Mod Podge for protection!!  After all this had dried, I began embellishing it....I have used a Mulberry paper flower, which I had sprayed with some homemade coppery glimmermist....I dried it  with my heat gun to get the colours and the burnt edges effect!! I really loved how this turned out as it blended perfectly with the papers!!  I then glued into place some red/burgandy gingham and lace trim. After this was down I placed the flower; some silk leaves and a small pearl spray and hot glued them all into place!! and "voila!!!" all done!!  I just love how it turned out!!

Just before I go....I just wanted to say a big thank you to all for your comments on my new, re-vamped blog.....I greatly appreciate them aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnndddddd and extra big BIG  Thank you to my good friend Elsa from JustafewDesigns for designing the wonderful banner you now see!!  Thank you so much Elsa!!  You ROCK gurl!!!

Well that's it from me for today...I am off to enjoy Australia Day.....Have fun everyone....
Wherever you and whatever you!!!
Cheers!!!

Some Ramblings

Hi everyone...back again.....wish I had some scrappiness to share with you all....but I have been really slack and I haven't scrapped a thing since my bird house mini!!  You see my scrappy desk looks kinda like this at the moment,

which is not really helping me to find motivation.....

Then when I sit down to scrap this is the view I have from my scrap table........

....and the warm, sunny weather beckons me!!  We have been having such glorious summer weather that I am finding it difficult to stay indoors!!

Anyhoo readers today I thought I would share with you all some of my plans; projects; challenges and - dare I say it - scrappy goals for the coming year !!  I guess one of the biggest challenges I have set for myself would have to be NO MORE SCRAPPY SHOPPING!!!!  I know!!  How hard is that going to be???!!!  I am going to have to be extremely well disciplined.   I plan to use my stash this year!!  I have so much stuff crammed into my scrapspace that there is hardly any room for me.....so this year is going to be my USE IT year.....who wants to join me on this challenge??

My next challenge goes hand in hand with my first one and that is to finally start making, creating and actually doing some of my altering and scrapping projects!!  I have so much "stuff" to scrap that I think it is high time that I de-cluttered it and actually began to use it!!   Here is just a small sample of things that are on my to do list....

Last but not least my New Year challenge to myself was to blog more!!!  So here I am!!  AND!!!  I think it is time to give this little blog a makeover!!  What do yout think?  She has been looking like this for a while now!!  Over the past week I have been giving myself some crash courses in blogger and I think I can now confidently give my little blog a much needed facelift....so stay tuned readers!!

I would like to thank you all for dropping by and leaving a comment.  I do read each and everyone of them and where I can I respond....although I am still not real sure where to do that.....but I do appreciate each and every one of you.....your comments give me the confidence to keep putting my scrappiness out here for you all to see........

Well I am off to begin this little blogs makeover!!  Please come back and check out my progress !!

Thanks for stopping by.....
hugs to you all

Happy Crafting All

Just a little something...

Hi all,
Well it has been pretty hot in my neck of the woods over the past couple of weeks and I am struggling to find the motivation to craft. For a while I thought I had totally lost my mojo completely!!! But I found it again on Wednesday and I created this mini album!!

I had so much fun creating and making my birdhouse wall hanging
that I decided to make a mini!! So I adapted my template slightly and here it is!!
The front cover

the back cover

I decided to really challenge myself this year and actually stop hoarding all my papers and get in and use them.....So..... with that in mind I took a deep breath...and pulled out my Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Collection. This wasn't easy scrappers! I almost cried when I made that first cut, but then the rest was easy and well worth the result....it is sooooooo pretty!! I have mainly used all of the pink papers and mixed in a few of the grey. I have more detailed photo's over on youtube.

Another one of my creations is my fan....I was inspired by my Masquerade Mask and the paper shoe!! I am really loving the whole Marie Antionette style so I decided to try my hand at making a paper fan and...well....
this is my first attempt....I'm not completely happy with it...
but I'm sure with some tweaking here and there...
I will get the look I am after lol.....

Here is a close up of all the pretty stuff!!

To make this I used some pink cardstock cut to 6" x12". I then used my Marthat Stewart Scoreboard and scored both pieces every 1/2". I then concertina folded them. After doing this I ran them through the Big Shot and embossed them with the "Jules Jewells" Cuttlebug embossing folder. After doing that I had to refold my fan, as it got a little squished! I then gave it a quick spray with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmermist. I then hot glued my flowers and feathers to a paper doily, which I then glued to my fan!! The to jazz it up a little I added some bling to the doily; added one of my crocheted butterflies and lastly a stick pin!!

Well readers thanks for sticking with me...it's been a pretty long post....
and I have rambled on enough....

Will be back soon with some more creative goodies.....*cross fingers*
Happy scrappin Crafters!

I hope you all had a great New Year and that you have all arrived into 2011 safe n sound! Well I have no New Years Resolutions...I find they only get broken, but I do have lots of plans, projects and scrappy goals for the coming year!! And yes one of them is to spend more time at poor, sad little neglected blog =D.

Anyhoo bloggers it is New Years day down here in Oz and I am off to spend sometime out in the great outdoors!! It is summer and it is hot hot HOT!!

Before I go just a quick share of my latest creations....just some little "somethings" I managed to whiz up in the midst of all the silly seasons madness!!

Birdhouse Tag/Wall Hanging

A little "flip" album I made for a quick stocking filler!! I used Graphic 45 "Domestic Goddess" papers.

Enjoy your day everyone....
