Hey Everyone, well our "tis the Season to HOP..blog hop is over :( I have to admit I feel kinda sad about this.  It was really motivating for me.  It gave me a chance to create and that is something that I haven't done in sometime aaaannnnndddd I got to make some great  quick and simple projects to share with my family, another thing I haven't done in such a long time.  I have had some "things" going on at home and they have/had caused to re-prioritise things.  Which is why I have been so absent from my blog.  However, having said that I have realised just how much I have missed creating and spending time with you all.  Did you all have fun with our hop?  We sure did!! It was so much fun.  I loved so many of the other ladies' projects and I met some wonderful people and made some new friends too!  Keep an eye out peeps because you never know when we will be back to do this again!

So I best move along a little here. :) I don't want to take up your whole day :D  I have a little something I would like to show you all.

My little vintage trunk....it actually started it's life as a suitcase....a vintage suitcase to be exact.  Somewhere along the way it transformed or evolved into this.  I was following Kathy Orta's U-stream and making along with her recorded version.  I made mine a lot shorter and smaller, it is only 6 1/2 inches
                                                                   by 4 inches wide.

I tired to recreate "trunk" handles by using some of the dark brown card stock. The plate is embossed and then lightly sanded the embossed surface. The handle is a piece of dark brown leather thonging.

A view from the top.I have used K&Company papers again ;) Just can't help myself!  I guess I will always be a K&Company gurl!! They are from the "Life's Journey" pad.I have added some vintage ephemera and Australian postage stamps to embellish  it.

Here is the back of the trunk.  I was unable to get a hold of "old" vintage looking hinges and latches, so I alcohol inked some brass ones.  I was preeeettty pleased with the results ;) The "straps" are just Kraft cardstock which I have inked up with Tim Holtz Tea Dye and Walnut stain.  I embossed with the Cuttlebugs "Textile" folder and then lightly ran the walnut stain ink pad over the raised surface.

The feet are little clear bumper savers that you stick to the inside of draws or cupboards. I found them in my local hardware store and thought that they would be perfect for this!

I lined the inside with burlap and sealed the edges with some grosgrain ribbon.
I adhered everything down with mod podge and gave it one final coat just to be sure :).

Well thanks for stopping by and I should be back soon.
Talk to you all then.
Hugs

Hello everyone and welcome to day three of  "tis the season to hop".  I hope you have all enjoyed all of the wonderful eye candy on everyone blog thus far.  I can't believe how fast this hop has gone.  Guess it really is true ...time flies when you're having fun! :D and hasn't this been such fun?

I have for you all today my final Christmas creation.  It is a pillow box with an added window.  The papers I have used are a few seasons ago and are from Basic Grey's "Wassail" collection.  I have also added an eyelet to thread the ribbon through so that these can be hung as decorations on a Christmas tree.

A big BIG thank you to you for joining us on this hop.  If you have stumbled upon my blog, welcome and thank you for stopping by. Please come join us on some hopping fun by going back to Elsa's blog at http://justafewdesigns.blogspot.com and hop-a-long.  lol :D

Thank You.....

Oh my gosh ladies and readers!  Thank you so much for all your support and all your lovely comments.  I was amazed to see so many of you stop by!  This is so exciting!! I am having so much fun!  Have you been to see everyone elses creations?  Aren't they just awesome?  How about Jules' decorations weren't they just divine?  and Linda's little gift cardholder was just so super cute! What about SuziQ's hand crocheted dressform.....OMG peoples that had me drooling!!!!   I really am honoured to be among such talented ladies!!

Well everyone here is my second simple, quick and easy holiday project.
Place cards!! Yep just some handcrafted holiday goodness to go on the Christmas table for you and your family!

These are made in the same fashion as an easel card, but just scaled down.

This is the same poinsetta SVG file from yesterdays project, but just resized for the placecards.  I have inked the edges and added a couple of layers of Iridescent Gold glimmer mist and I used my I-Rock for the small bling in the centre.
I have used my DCWV cardstock again and more of the Kaisercraft papers.  The stamp "tis the season" is from a small set of acrylic stamps that I have, but I no longer know who put them out.  I thought it was perfect for this project and perfect for the hop lol :D I used a small diamonds border punch to make the green strip.

Thank you all so much for dropping by and leaving a comment.  All of your lovely comments and positive feedback really means a lot to me.  Yesterday in my excitement I forgot to add the line up of ladies who are participating, so here it is now.  If you have stumbled upon my blog, welcome and thank you for stopping by. Please come join us on some hopping fun by going back to Elsa's blog at http://justafewdesigns.blogspot.com and hop-a-long.  lol :D

Blog Roll:

Please hop on over to Linda's blog here at  http://simpleandsassycreations.blogspot.com/  to see her next creation.

It's Here It's here!!

Hello Everyone!! Can you beleive it??? December is here!!! And you know what that means don't you?.......It's time to.....HOP!!!!!  I am so excited!!  I can hardly wait to see what everyone has created!!  This is going to be so much fun! This is my very first blog hop and I am honoured to be included in the fabulous line of very talented ladies - I  have to admit to being a little nervous and have big butterflies in my tummy.    I hope you all enjoy our Christmas themed projects!  Well without any further ado. . . . . . . . . . .Lets HOP!!! :D

We will be hopping for three days from the 2nd through to the 4th of December.  Some ladies will be giving away blog candy, so remember to follow and comment to be eligible to win.  Also, Elsa will be having a giveaway on her blog, but to enter this you must follow and comment on all 3 days and on all the blogs particpating.

We hope to inspire you to create and give homemade gifts and cards this year.  If you have arrived here by chance, I would just like to say welcome to my blog and please go back to the beginning at Elsa's blog Just a Few Designs.   So here is my first project.  It is two projects in one.

We all give gift cards over the silly season and I thought what better way to give or present this than in a personal gift box that pops up.  I loved this idea when I first saw it and had to have the SVG file for it!!  You can find the file over at SVG Attic.  I have used plain green cardstock from DCWV's Neutral collection  pad and the papers are a mix of  Kasiercraft "Tis the Season" and "Dear Santa".  Love love love these papers!! They have a vintagey look to them and I just couldn't resist using them for this great little gift giving package!

The poinsetta was also cut on my cricut! and sprayed with glimmer mist. Just love how this turned out!

My second project is an easel card I created using Graphic 45's "Christmas Past".  Gotta  love Graphic 45!  Their divine papers make creating cards and projects just so easy to do!  I have used two different coloured cardstocks from the DCWV Neutral collection pad and co-ordinated it with various papers from the collection.  I have had this pad stashed away in my hoard for a couple of years now and decided to finally use it in this years Christmas projects.

Well everyone there are my first projects.  I hope you enjoy them and if you have any questions please comment or email me.  I would be happy to help!  Thanks so much for stopping by and please hop onto Linda at http://simpleandsassycreations.blogspot.com

Don't forget to come back again tomorrow to see what I have created next!  Have fun.  Please leave a comment and let me know you dropped by!

Some of my Scrappiness

I know that they say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but I am still not loving my blog any where near enough!!  Life has just been soooooo busy and my poor little blog has once again been neglected!!  However I do have much scrappiness to share with you all....I shall begin with my tp roll mini.  This is a mini I created for Chiara.  I have all boys, so to create something so soft and pretty and totally gurly!! was just so much fun!! and I have to admit I loved every minute of it....I got a little caught up in the moment and even created a bag for the mini to go in!!

My next project is a mini I created using the lovely Life's Journey from K&Company.   I love this stack, but then I love all of K&Company's papers!!

I tried my hand at altering some domino's!!

I really enjoyed altering these little fella's.  Although I have to admit I somehow pictured them bigger and for some reason thought I could add so much more to them!!

I just wanted to thank you all for your support and for dropping by and checking out my scrappiness....  I really appreciate it!!  Remember if you have any questions, just email me I am more than happy to help!!

Happy Scrappin'
